About Your Move
Booking Your Move
When you schedule your move with us, be sure to give as specific of information as you can about the items being moved and the load/unload locations. Will there be multiple flights of stairs, elevator, a long walk from the truck to the building? All of these help us give you a better estimate of how much time your move will take.
Preparation for Your Move
After you have sent us an itemized list and received an estimate or after we have come out for an in person estimate, we recommend prepping for the move before we arrive. These are all things that we are happy to do for you but if you would like to save money and time used for us, these are a few things that can greatly speed up the move.
Boxing and packing all items
Everything that we move should be in a box or bag. This greatly reduces the chance of damages during your move, speeds up the move and makes packing the truck easier when we don’t have to play Tetris with arm fulls of loose items.
Clearing off furniture and emptying all drawers of dressers, night stands, etc
- Everything that sits on a dresser or in its drawers should be boxed and clearly labeled where it came from and where it’s going to.
Disassembling furniture
- Furniture pieces like bed frames and dining tables almost always need to be disassembled in order to fit out of the house and onto the truck. Taking the time to do this before we come can greatly reduce our overall time on the job.
Your Moving Day
When we arrive on the day of the move our guys will go on a walk through of the property with you as you show them exactly what does and does not go. We recommend any items that you would like to move yourself be tucked away in a closet or clearly defined area that we won’t be grabbing anything else from. Once the walk through is complete just find a place to sit back and let the guys do their work. If they have questions the crew leader will let you know.
Once we arrive at the unload the guys will again do a walkthrough and see exactly where you want everything. It’s important to know where the furniture will end up so boxes and bags don’t pile up where the heavy sleeper sofa needs to go!
Oversized Items
We do charge and additional fee for oversized items over 250lbs like pianos, pool tables, gunsafes and some gym equipment. If you are unsure of how much your piece weighs give us a call and we can figure it out with you.
Bad Weather?
We work rain or shine. If there is a major storm on your moving day we can do our best to reschedule but ask that you be flexible in these situations as we need to work around other jobs in the schedule. We do a great job of making sure items are wrapped to protect from the rain. If we are unloading for you and it’s raining, having a towel handy to wipe items off as they come inside is a good idea.
Payment
At the end of the job if you have not prepaid for the service the crew leader will take your payment. We accept all major credit cards, checks, cash and Venmo.
